Lombok Island is also known as "Thousand Island Mosque" is keep proof of the historical development of Islam that is quite old. One of them, and still well maintained to date is an ancient mosque in the village of Bayan, Bayan Beleq District of North Lombok West Nusa Tenggara Province.
This mosque is built around the sixteenth or seventeenth century BC. Although no exact figures, but the public believes that the mosque was built simultaneously with the entry of Islam in Lombok.
The building of this mosque is quite simple to measure approximately 9 x 9 meters, woven bamboo walls, lined with clay that hardened and lined with mats woven from bamboo. The roof is made of bamboo planks. The foundation stone without using cement.
Bayan Beleq Mosque has become one of North Lombok regency tourism icons, along with Mount Rinjani in Lake Segara Anak.
